Terms of Service
The terms that apply when you use the Preceptus Health website, online forms and digital services.
Last updated: October 2026
In an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Our website, online forms and messaging are not monitored around the clock and are not for urgent or emergency care.
1. Accepting these terms
These Terms of Service apply to your use of www.preceptushealth.com and the online forms, booking tools, secure messaging and virtual care services offered by Preceptus Health ("we", "us", "our"). By using our website or digital services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
2. Emergencies
Do not use our website, forms or messaging for urgent or emergency medical needs. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. For urgent health advice in Alberta, you can also call Health Link at 811.
3. Website content is not medical advice
The information on our website is for general education only. It does not replace an assessment, diagnosis or treatment by a qualified health professional. Using our website does not create a patient-provider relationship. That relationship begins when you are seen by one of our providers.
Treatment options, results, timelines and costs described on our website are general and may not apply to you. Your provider will make recommendations based on your individual assessment.
4. Booking & online forms
- Please provide complete and accurate information in our booking, intake and eligibility forms.
- Submitting a form does not guarantee an appointment, a prescription or a particular treatment. Our team will review your information and follow up.
- If you complete a form for someone else, such as your child, you confirm you are authorized to do so.
- Please let us know as early as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Missed appointment or late cancellation fees may apply to some services. We will tell you about any fees in advance.
5. Virtual care & secure messaging
Virtual appointments and secure messaging make care more convenient, but they have limits. Some conditions need an in-person exam, and your provider may ask you to come to the clinic. To protect your privacy:
- Join virtual visits from a private place using a secure internet connection.
- Do not record visits without the agreement of your provider.
- Use our secure messaging platforms rather than regular email for health information.
- Keep your login details private.
Messages are generally answered during clinic hours (Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm) and are not for urgent concerns.
6. Fees & coverage
All of our consultations are covered by Alberta Health with a valid Alberta Personal Health Card. Some services, procedures, products and medications are not covered and are private-pay. We will tell you the cost of private services before you book or before treatment begins. You are responsible for checking your own private insurance coverage.
7. Using our website
You agree not to:
- Use our website or services for any unlawful purpose.
- Submit false information or impersonate another person.
- Try to access systems or information you are not authorized to access.
- Interfere with the security or operation of the website, or upload harmful code.
We may change, suspend or stop any part of our website or digital services at any time.
8. Our content
The text, graphics, logos and other content on our website belong to Preceptus Health or are used with permission. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, change or republish our content for other purposes without our written permission.
9. Third-party links & services
Our website may link to, or use, services operated by others, such as online form, messaging, virtual care, mapping and review providers. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party websites. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
10. Limitation of liability
We work to keep our website accurate and available, but it is provided "as is" and may contain errors or be unavailable at times. To the extent permitted by law, Preceptus Health is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, our website or from reliance on its general information. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable law or our professional obligations to you as a patient.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal and health information. It forms part of these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Alberta.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with the date it was last updated. Continuing to use our website after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
